PTI, Muscat Projects and Salman Stores record wins
Passage to India (PTI) scored an exciting nine-run win against Al Turki NMC as the Premier Division T20 entered its second phase at the Ministry of Sports Affairs Ground I in Al Amerat on Saturday.
Invited to bat first, PTI struggled to bat freely and eventually managed to score a modest 124 for nine in 20 overs. Muhammed Sajjad Ali scored 28 off 32. Star Al Turki spinners Jay Odedara and Ajay Lalcheta bagged three wickets each.
Life was tougher for Al Turki as PTI bowled brilliantly to restrict their opponents to just 115 for eight in 20 overs. Only Sankata Prasad (26 off 33) and Gulam Shaik (23 off 27) spent some time in the middle before joining their team mates in the pavilion. For PTI, Muhammed Zahir Siddiqui and Syed Amir Kaleem claimed three and two wickets respectively.

Muscat Projects sink NYDT
In an A Division T20 game, Muscat Projects and Environment trounced National Youth Development Team (NYDT) by six wickets at MOS Ground II on Saturday.
Batting first, NYDT scored 142 for nine in 20 overs. Hetham Bahar Ali (26 not out off 20) and Syed Taha Hassan (25 off 22) were the only notable scorers. Tapan Viz was brilliant with the ball, taking four for 29 while Muhammed Waqas and Nowfal Rayammarakkar claimed two wickets each.
Muscat Projects raced to the target in just 15 overs, scoring 146 for four thanks to superb batting by openers Muhammed Waqas (43 off 24) and Praveen Das (33 off 15). Adil Abbas Ali took two for 29.
Brief scores: NYDT 142 for 9 in 20 overs (Hetham Bahar Ali 26 n.o., Syed Taha Hassan 25; Tapan Viz 4/29, Muhammed Waqas 2/15, Nowfal Rayammarakkar 2/29) lost to Muscat Projects and Environment 146 for 4 in 15 overs (Muhammed Waqas 43, Praveen Das 33; Adil Abass Ali 2/29).
Salman Stores win
Earlier on Friday, Salman Stores proved to be too good for NYDT in a 48-run win at the same venue.
Salman Stores had a miserable outing with the bat scoring only 129 for nine in 20 overs. Jahanzeb Asghar (41 off 37) and Ghazanfar Iqbal (29 off 23) were the main scorers. Adil Abbas Ali claimed four for 16 while Adeel Abbas bagged two for 16.
NYDT were then bundled out for a paltry 81 runs with only Obaidullah making a notable contribution with the bat, scoring 31 off 43. Asim Kamal and Muhammed Azeem bowled outstanding spells, taking three for 12 and two for 10 in their four-over spells. Muzammil Ilyas also claimed two wickets.
