Three arrested for hunting Arabian Ibex

According to Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) :Three people were arrested for hunting Arabian ibex, a desert-dwelling goat species, in Dhofar.

In a statement MECA said, “In cooperation with Royal Oman Police and a number of citizens, wildlife observers in Dhofar Governorate arrested three people. The three hunted seven Arabian ibex in the village of Dimit in the Wilayat of Shalim and Hallaniyat Islands."

The defendants were referred to the concerned authorities who will take legal action against them. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs calls on everyone to cooperate and report wildlife offenders through this number: 24696333.
