Thousand Mangrove seedlings planted in Dhofar
1000 seedlings of Mangrove have been planted in Sharbathat area of Dhofar governorate, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) announced.
The Ministry said in a statement online: "MECA in coordination with the General Directorate of Environment in Dhofar Governorate and in cooperation with the Municipality of Shalem and Halaniyat Islands, carried out a campaign for the planting of 1000 seedlings of Mangrove plants in Khor Thabgan in Sharbathat area."
So far, about 681 thousand seedlings of Mangrove have been plantee At 32 sites throughout the Sultanate since the implementation of the plan in 2001 as part of the ministry's plan for the conservation, management, and rehabilitation of mangrove environment.
