St. Regis to launch in Oman by 2022

Marriott recently signed an agreement with Alfardan Group to bring the first St. Regis property to the Sultanate of Oman by 2022.

The St. Regis Muscat will be set on the beachfront in the heart of the new Al Mouj development close to the capital city’s international airport.

Muscat’s new haven for leisure travellers

As part of the new luxury real estate project Al Mouj, the new St. Regis will offer 271 rooms and suites as well as 170 branded residential units.

Amenities include five specialty restaurants, the iconic St. Regis bar inspired by the original in New York, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and spa as well as a leisure club. The 1,100-sqm ballroom can be booked for business events and weddings.

“The signing of St Regis in Oman is a natural progression for the brand’s portfolio, as the brand continues to become one of the most recognised and sought-after luxury hotel brands in the region,” Alex Kyriakidis, managing director for the Middle East and Africa at Marriott International, said about the news.

Part of a bigger picture

Oman has been working hard to further develop its travel industry and has created the 2040 Tourism Strategy to achieve ambitious goals such as reaching 11.7 million international and domestic tourists by that year.

An integrated tourism complex (ITC) such as Al Mouj Muscat is a part of this strategy and is designed to attract both local and international guests. As of now, Al Mouj has already handed over 2,200 completed new properties and is home to over 8,000 residents from 80 countries.

With two hotels already running and a third one soon to launch, the St. Regis will complement and complete the ITC’s hospitality offering.
