Sohar Airport receives first Qatar Airways flight

 Qatar Airways landed for the first time in Sohar today - and touched down right on time.

The maiden flight, which arrived at 4:10pm, makes the airline the third to commence operations to and from Sohar Airport after Air Arabia and SalamAir.

The Qatar Airways flight will operate three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
 

The new route complements Qatar Airways existing operations in Muscat, boosts travel and trade opportunities between the two Gulf countries, and provides hassle-free travel options to the residents of Sohar.

Country Manager of Qatar Airways – Oman, Joe Rajadurai said: “The first flight arrived at 16.10 pm at Sohar Airport.”

The new Sohar route will be served by an Airbus A320 aircraft featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class.

Qatar Airways recently launched a direct daily service to Dublin, Republic of Ireland, Nice, France, and flights to Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.
