Over 40 tons of goods destroyed at Oman borders as part of campaign
More than 40 tons of goods have been destroyed at the Sultanate's borders so far this year.
Mid-year statistics provided by the North Al Batinah Municipality revealed that a total of 41.7 tons were destroyed at the border following the inspection of 2,664 trucks.
Furthermore, nearly 10,000 restaurants were inspected by the municipality from the beginning of the year until June.
The statistics showed that 198 shops have been closed after 9,863 inspections were carried out, while a total of 1,660 violations were issued during the campaign.
In addition, more than nine tons of food items have been destroyed by authorities in North Al Batinah so far this year.
The municipality also tested 952 water samples and 245 food samples over the first six months of the year.
