Oman’s New Segment of Sur road Opens

The Ministry of Transport and Communication has opened an 18km segment of the Bidbid to Sur road.  A total of 109km of three-lane road has been completed now as meant by the opening of the road section.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transportation has stated that the the Bidbid-Sur road dualisation project first part of the second stage which is 131 km long opening would be done by the ministry. It would starts from Masroon in the Governorate of North A'Sharqiyah  Wilayat of Ibra into the Governorate of South A'Sharqiyah Wilayat of Sur.

The current part opened for the month has a length of 18 km in the Governorate of North A'Sharqiyah  Wilayat of Bidiyah. To avoid passing inside the wilaya, the route of this part has been amended.

Finally, there are two tunnels and three flyovers which maintains the traffic activity for Al Muntarib, Al Ghabbi, A’Shariq, Al Wasil, A’Dhahir, Al Hawiyah and Helat Al Wabariyah villages in the Wilayat of Bidiyah.
