Oman weather: Rain expected in some parts of the Sultanate
Intermittent rain and thunder will continue over the Al Hajar Mountains, Al Wusta and Dhofar, according to Oman Meteorology's weather forecast for Oman.
The forecast shows chances of cloud formation with isolated light rain over most of the Sultanate.
"Cloudy skies are expected along the coastal areas of the Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains, with intermittent drizzle. Chances of cloud formation are expected, with isolated light rain over most of the Sultanate. Thunder and rain are occasionally expected over the Al Hajar Mountains and the adjoining provinces, Al Wusta, and over desert areas of Al Dhofar governorate during the afternoon," the agency said.
According to Oman Meteorology, there are also chances of dust and wind over desert areas of Al Wusta and other governorates.
Along the coastal areas of the Oman Sea, sea winds will be northeasterly, and light to moderate during the day. Along the coastal areas of Arabian Sea, sea winds will be southwesterly, and moderate to active. The rest of the coastal areas of the Sultanate will see southerly to southwesterly wind, light to moderate.
On the Arabian sea, seas will be rough, with a maximum height of 4.5 metres. On the other hand, the Oman Sea and Musandam Sea are calm, with a maximum height of 1 metre.
The maximum temperature in Muscat governorate is 46 degrees Celsius, with low of 37 degrees Celsius. In Salalah, the maximum temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is 26 degrees Celsius.
