Top tips to avoid Oman police fines:
1. Don't speed- It is quite easy to avoid getting fines really! Stick to the speed limits, even if there is a 10- 20 km leeway but don't rely on this. Some speed cameras are set at 1km above the speed limit. It is just not worth the risk, and the speed cameras are known to be sensitive in the Sultunate.

2. Park in the right place- If you park in an area that is not meant for parking, you shouldn't be surprised at getting a fine. Do not park in disabled zones or parking that is prohibited as the fines in these spots tend to be very high. If the parking is metered, then pay for it to avoid a fine.
