More than 340,000 Covid-19 samples tested in Oman
The members of the Supreme Committee headed by HE Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health are addressing the media to talk about the latest developments on Covid-19.
Highlights from the press conference:
1- Minister of Health: Cases are increasing both locally and globally.
2- Minister of Health: Institutions must ensure only 70% of employees work from office.
3- Minister of Health: The main reason for reducing the number of child deaths in the Sultanate is vaccinations.
4- Minster of Health: Article 550 will be clarified in the Civil Transactions Law that defines the relationship of the tenant with the landlord, and it will be issued soon by the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs after its review.
5- Minister of Health: Hopefully, the vaccine will be available before the end of this year. We are in consultation with all vaccine companies.
6- Minister of Health: The return of employees by 100% to work in violation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee.
7- Minister of Health: People with a chronic disease are among the most affected when infected with Covid 19.
8- Minister of Education: Students will receive some lessons by attending schools and the rest through educational platforms and TV channels.
9- The Minister of Education: The Ministry has prepared a health protocol to implement the precautions in schools, which include physical spacing, wearing masks, washing hands, and spacing inside school buses in addition to adopting the school hours system, not classes.
10- HE Dr Abdullah Ambusaidi: Offers will be presented to parents by companies to provide tablet devices at reasonable prices, and telecommunications companies will provide special offers for Internet services. In the coming days, telecommunications companies will announce their offers for Internet packages.
11- Minister of Education: The relationship between parents and private schools is a contractual relationship, the role of the ministry is to ensure the provision of high quality educational content.
12- Minister of Health: Health institutions have withstood the pandemic. Most of our healthcare workers even skipped their vacations.
13- Dr. Zuwaina Al Maskari, DG of Educational Evaluation Centre: 20 to 40 per cent of academic subjects has been reduced and the criteria for evaluating students differed from the previous ones.
13- Minister of Education: In the event that the guardian does not want his child to attend school, the Ministry has set a protocol and special conditions for cases that are allowed to study only remotely.
14- Minister of Health: We need to take care of our health workers. Most of them wear mask and protective clothing for 8 hours straight, and if this epidemic continues, they will become more tired.
15- Minister of Education: The educational content that will be presented to the students is one regardless of the method of presenting it on paper, electronically, by means of CD and flash, or television screens, or when students attend schools.

17- Dr. Saif Al Abri: There is a protocol regarding school closures in the event of a case registered in a school, and it has been approved by the Higher Committee.
18- Minister of Health: It is not true what is being circulated about imposing fees of OMR 45 to conduct a medical examination in Musandam Governorate.
19- Minister of Education: Primary school students (Class 1 to 4) do not need to wear masks, as recommended by the World Health Organization and the ministry will provide hand sanitizer and thermometer.
20- Dr. Saif Al Abri: If there are no private institutions to test for Covid-19 for those travelling outside Oman, they can visit any government hospitals and do the test by paying the necessary fee.
21- Minister of Health: The number of casualties reduced since July, but this decrease depends on the extent of adherence to preventive measures.
22- Minister of Education: 97 schools (Low density) will operate by 100 percent.
More than 1000 schools (medium density) will operate by 50 per cent.
40 schools (High density) will operate by 33%.
23- Minister of Health: A committee has been formed that will set up plans to reopen mosques.
24- Minister of Health: The number of examinations conducted yesterday reached 2344, bringing the total number of cumulative examinations to 344443.
25- Minister of Health: "I am sure that we will overcome this pandemic, I am sure that no one in the government and committees wants us to return to the state of closure, so I call on everyone to adhere to the precautionary measures and spread awareness in the community."
