Locust control campaign continues in Oman
A campaign to combat the menace of locusts continues in wilayat Sur with the aim of protecting agricultural crops.
In a statement, the Directorate of Agriculture in South Al Sharqiyah said, "The campaign to control the locusts is continuing in villages of Wilayat Sur and spraying operations have been intensified in the morning and evening with the cooperation of local people."
"The campaign contributed a reduction of locust numbers, which in turn helped reduce economic damage caused by them because of their attacks on agricultural crops such as Palm trees, Mango and other crops," the Directorate added.
