India announces nine more repatriation flights from Oman

Nine more repatriation planes to take back Indian expatriates in Oman who wish to return home have been organised by the Indian government.

The flights have been scheduled between 17 June and 30 June 2020. Seven of the flights are headed for destinations in Kerala, while one each will fly to Bhubaneswar in Odisha and Goa.

The Bhubaneswar flight will arrive on the 17th, with the Goa flight is scheduled for the next day. The flights for Kerala have been scheduled between 24 and 30 June. Two of these flights will go to Thiruvananthapuram, while three will land in Kochi. One each will fly to Kannur and Kozhikode.

“As in the case of flights operated earlier under Mission Vande Bharat, passenger lists for all the above-mentioned flights will be finalized by the embassy on the basis of information received by it,” said a statement from the Embassy of India in Oman. “Priority will be given to medical emergency cases, pregnant women, workers in distress, senior citizens as well as to other Indian nationals who are stranded in difficult situations.

“The embassy will be contacting the shortlisted people for each flight directly through email/telephone,” added the statement. “The embassy will then share the list of short-listed people with Air India/Indigo and all such people will be contacted by Air India/Indigo for booking of tickets.”
