GCC rail network to link all six Gulf states soon
The 2,200 km-long railway network that will interface the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states from Kuwait City to the Omani capital Muscat is as of now well in progress, the GCC Secretary-General has said.
The GCC network will include two rail lines: one that will connect all GCC countries and Qatar via a bridge and another that will stretch between Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and End in Oman.
"The driven task will have an expansive effect on financial improvement in the Gulf locale," Abdul Lateef Al Zayani said at the GCC Days discussion held in Kuwait.
The GCC said that the GCC Railway would be a local incorporated interoperable railroad taking into account its vehicle needs.
As per Bahrain's Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the rail system will interface every one of the six Gulf States and will fill in as a choice to air and ocean travel for both payload and travelers in the area.
"With a general plan to bringing together the district and upgrading individuals network and cargo development, the venture is additionally expected to contribute altogether to the locale's financial development, improvement, and success and in broadening the vehicle supply, lessening in general transportation costs, and giving a productive, naturally solid and practical transport elective," the service said.
