Decrease in viral hepatitis cases in Oman
The number of viral hepatitis cases recorded in 2018 decreased by 63.6 percent compared to 2017. A total of 593 cases were reported last year, the National Centre for Statistics and Information has announced.
According to data revealed by NCSI, viral Hepatitis type A, which is the most common type of Hepatitis in Oman, also witnessed a drop of 56 per cent compared to 2017 figures.
NCSI said, "In 2018, 517 viral hepatitis (A) cases were recorded with a decrease of 56 per cent compared to 2017."
