Annual vacations for Indian schools in Oman rescheduled
Indian school students in Oman will be given their annual vacation for the current academic year in the month of December.
They will also be provided a short one-week break from 28 June to 2 July during the summer, with no online classes conducted during the upcoming Eid holidays, the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman has said.
The measures were taken to ensure schools are able to complete their syllabi, with classes having been disrupted and alternative teaching methods adopted during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The decision has been taken in order to optimise the academic year for maximum productivity while also ensuring maximum benefit to parents and students, offering better prospects for travel during the annual break,” said the board in a statement. “Consequently, the schools shall continue online classes during the months of June and July with a short term-break of one week from 28th June to 2nd July 2020
