Agriculture minister reviews food security

Dr. Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Oufi, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Stores and Food Reserves (ZAD), chaired the second meeting of the Board of Directors.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the decisions of the previous meetings of the board. It discussed a number of items included in the agenda, most notably the discussion of ZAD budget for 2020 and the commercial report for the second quarter of this year.

The meeting also discussed the executive position on food security issues during the first half of 2019.

After that, a presentation was made on the role of Oman Food Investment Holding Company in the food security system and developments in the implementation of its projects.

The Board was briefed on the minutes of ZAD’s committees.

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries conducted an inspection tour of ZAD’s stores accompanied by ZAD’s CEO and the members of the board to check on the readiness of the stores and inspect the goods. The board took the appropriate decisions on the agenda items.
