Oman Airports announced revised parking fees for new Muscat International Airport terminal
Muscat: The parking fees for the short-term parking area at the New Muscat International Airport passenger terminal have fallen by half, according to Oman Airports.
The authority has released new parking rates for the airport, according to which parking up to 30 minutes will be OMR 0.500, while parking from 30 minutes-one hour will cost OMR1, a decrease of 50 per cent from the earlier rate.
Parking for one-to-two hours is now OMR2, down from OMR3, while two-to-three hours is OMR3, down from OMR4. The fees for parking from three to 24 hours have stayed the same.
The decision has been welcomed by many residents, who were baffled by the initial parking fees. "I drove to the new airport four times," said one driver, " and I always parked on the side to avoid paying the fees, but now I can actually use the parking space."
