World Tourism Conference to be Held in Oman
The second UNWTO/UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture is set to be held in the Sultanate on 11th and 12th December this year at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre
The event is one of the important activities in the year as it focuses mainly on the domain of cultural tourism.
Since the event aligns itself with the International Year of Sustainable Tourism 2017 celebration, it has its own relevant significance. In this event above 60 ministers of culture and tourism and CEO’s from the top leading entities are anticipated to take part. About 300 individual from foreign countries, members from the Sultanate and 150 countries would be hosted in the conference.
To host the conference, the organising committee of the Ministry of Tourism(MoT) and its sub-committees have been following up with participants to ensure swift flow of work and to complete procedures for registration prior to the event.
With the cooperation of the institutions and government entities connected to the tourism sector, the studying, monitoring and supervising all the activities related to the participation are conducted by the sub-committees. This has been confirmed by the Director General of Tourism Promotions at MoT, and the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Conference that there are seven teams (specialised) from the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and the MoT to ensure the same.
