Qatar Petroleum announces drop in fuel prices for July

After hiking fuel prices between the months of February and May, with no change in June, earlier this year, Qatar Petroleum has announced a decrease in fuel rates for the month of July. 

Starting tomorrow, Premium petrol will cost QR 1.70 a liter, down from QR 1.95 in June. The reduction will allow car users a saving of 25 dirhams per liter. 

Revealing a similar difference of 25 dirhams, Super petrol will be available for QR1.75 a liter in July in contrast to QR 2.00 per liter in June. 

From next month, a liter of diesel will cost QR1.85, which is 15 dirhams lower than the liter cost of diesel in June. 

This announcement alters the trend of fuel price escalation experienced by residents and citizens of Qatar for the last few months. 

April 2019 saw a stark increase in fuel prices that went up by 25 dirhams in contrast to fuel prices in March. 

May witnessed a further rise in fuel prices with no change in June. 

Qatar Petroleum has been announcing the monthly fuel price list since September 2017.

When the first list was announced in June 2016 the premium petrol was QR1.20 per liter, super QR1.30 per liter and diesel QR1.40 per liter.
