Cornerstone for new oil station laid at SQU

The cornerstone for the first integrated service oil station at Sultan Qaboos University has been laid.

The first part of the project, that includes completion of the fuel station with accompanying services such as car laundry and car maintenance and a mosque, is expected to be completed during the second half of 2019.

Director of Investment and Income Department at SQU, Mohammed bin Ramdan Al Baloushi, said: "This contract is for 20 years, wherein PDO will develop the site and provide the services provided by most fuel filling stations, and the site of this station qualifies it to serve the community outside the university"

He added: "Another cooperation will be through this contract, which is to support student training, activities and research in the fields of company specialisation, in addition, the university employees and students will receive a discount in the services provided through this project."
 

"The second stage of the project will include the establishment of a commercial complex, to accommodate some of the service activities with the provision of some shops that have global brands inside this center, as well as a gym and a hall for the establishment of cultural activities that contribute to the community service and is expected to accomplish the second phase during the next year,” he said.
