WhatsApp to now give you over an hour to delete a message for everyone: Here’s how to use
'Delete for Everyone' was one of the top demanded features on WhatsApp and it was rolled out to everyone in November last year. The feature, however, had a window of only seven-minutes or 420 seconds to delete a sent message after which the feature was of no use. WhatsApp finally seems to upgrade it and extend the window for 'Delete for Everyone.' If the new WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.18.69 is to be believed then WhatsApp users will get up to 4,096 seconds or 68 minutes and 16 seconds to delete a message that was sent. The new extended time is likely to replace the seven-minutes window.
The new extended 'Delete for Everyone' was spotted by WhatsApp update tracker WABetainfo. "You can now delete messages for everyone sent within 4096 seconds, that is 68 minutes and 16 seconds," the report adds.

The deleting messages for everyone feature on WhatsApp allows users to delete specific messages sent to either a group or an individual chat. This is particularly useful if you sent a message to the wrong chat or if the message you sent contains a mistake. Messages that are successfully deleted for everyone will be replaced with "This message was deleted" in your recipients' chats. Similarly, if you see "This message was deleted" in a chat, it means that the sender deleted their message for everyone.
How to delete messages for everyone on WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp and go to the chat containing the message you wish to delete.
Tap and hold the message. Optionally, tap more messages to delete multiple messages at once.
Tap Delete at the top of the screen > Delete for everyone.
It's worth noting that the recipients may see your message before it's deleted or if deletion was not successful. Users will not be notified if deleting for everyone was not successful.
WABetainfo also claims that the version 2.18.67 on Android has also modified icons to Stickers. Over the weekend, WhatsApp rolled out new beta version 2.18.71 which brings 'Locked recordings' which upgrades the voice recording feature.
WhatsApp also gives you can option to delete messages for yourself. Deleting messages for yourself allows you to delete your copy of messages you've sent or received from your phone. This has no effect on your recipients' chats. Your recipients will still see the messages in their chat screen.
