Pakistan’s Governor tests positive of COVID-19
The Governor of the province of Sindh in Pakistan, Imran Ismail, has been tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
This was announced and revealed by the Governor himself on his official Twitter account on Monday, April 27, 2020.
“I have just been tested COVID-19 positive, Allah Kareem in sha Allah will fight it out. Imran Khan has taught us to fight out the most difficult in life and I believe this is nothing against what we are prepared for. May Allah give strength to fight this pandemic,” Ismail wrote.
With this recent case, the governor has become the third prominent personality in Pakistan to counter COVID-19.
Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan has prayed for his speedy recovery and said: “praying for Governor Imran Ismail's speedy recovery from COVID-19. May Allah grant him the strength to fight this.”
While talking to one of the local media channels in Pakistan, Ismail revealed that he has isolated himself at his residence, and that he has informed all the people that he has met with over the past couple of days.
“I will also have my family tested for the virus," he added.
According to the Government of Pakistan reports, the province of Sindh has close to 5000 infected cases while the death toll has reached 85 as of Monday, April 27, 2020.
