Covid-19: Kerala launches online registration facility for NRIs
Kerala has started online registration for all Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) belonging to the state who want to return home from abroad in the wake of Covid-19 crisis.
The development comes after reports of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) planning to bring back stranded Indians emerged.
According to media reports, 100,000 Kerala expats mostly from various Middle East countries, including Oman have already registered through the website launched by Norka roots, the official body of the diaspora.
The registration, according to officials, is done to collect the details for the government to facilitate services including quarantine to the returning expats.
