Body of missing Indian entrepreneur found floating in river
After a massive search operation that lasted over 30 hours, the body of missing Indian entrepreneur and Coffee Day Group Chairman V G Siddhartha was found floating in the Nethravathi river, according to Mangaluru Police.
The body was shifted to Wenlock Hospital in Chikkamagaluru where a post-mortem was conducted.
“The body was found floating near Hoige Bazar at around 6.30am. The next process will go as per law and family members have been informed,” Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sandeep Patel said.
The 58-year-old Siddhartha founded India’s largest coffee chain, Cafe Coffee Day, and was married to the daughter of Indian politician S M Krishna. He went missing on Monday evening.
He was last seen near a bridge that runs over the Nethravathi river. It is suspected that he committed suicide by jumping off the bridge.
