Woman Mistakenly Buried Alive Tried To ’’Fight Her Way Out Of Sealed Coffin’’

Santos was indeed dead, but her death was much more recent than previously believed. Her body was still warm, and there were changes to how she had been laid to rest.

Reportedly, her body had been turned around, cotton that had been placed in her ears and nostrils was removed, and the nails on the coffin were loose. There was also blood and evidence of injuries to Santos’ hands and forehead that would be consistent with trying to escape.

Santos’ mother, Germana de Almeida, explained that when the coffin was opened, she saw injuries to her daughter’s body that weren’t there when she was buried.

“She had tried to open the lid, even the nails that had been hammered in were loose. Her hands were injured like she had been trying to get out,” De Almeida claimed.

The incident has now been reported to the police and an investigation is underway.
