Girl tweets photos of her ‘boyfriend’ who looks just like Michael Jackson—Twitter goes crazy over her new beau!
Imagine you got to date a special someone who is also the spitting image of a world-famous celebrity? One girl had all her friends gobsmacked and starstruck when she apparently hooked up with the legendary Michael Jackson’s “doppelganger.”
Lourdes Zavaleta, 21, had her friends and the internet buzzing over photos of her latest “boyfriend,” who is also the spitting image of the man known to the world as “the King of Pop.”
Her initial post of this photo (below) left many netizens spellbound, “Y’all my man is so cute, look at the selfie he just sent me,” she tweeted. The image of the man sitting in his car in a ball cap looks like more than a spitting image of Jackson in his post-“Thriller” era.
Lourdes, known on Twitter as Gossip Grill, managed to captivate her 22,900 Twitter followers’ imaginations with her new boyfriend’s stunning resemblance to M.J. Cheeky comments flew in from all over, pulling puns from Jackson’s lyrics in good fun:
“Does he rock with you all night?” one Twitter user asked.
“He won’t stop till he gets enough,” another gibed.
Some more hilarious comments from Twitter users:
‘”Sis you dating the king of pop,” queried one netizen.
“All I wanna say is that … they don’t really care about us,” tweeted another.
“Who’s the man in the mirror,” one more asked.
“I guess I’m not his lover, I’m just a girl who claims that he is the one,” a lady cheekily tweeted.
But after all the hubbub, Lourdes had a huge confession to make to everyone: It had all been a joke between friends—the man in the photo was not her boyfriend; she actually had no idea who he was and just stumbled upon his photo online. She had no idea that this simple gibe with a few friends would explode into such a Twitter fiasco!
“Unfortunately, he’s not actually my man. I found his picture on Twitter,” Lourdes confessed. “The post was just a joke between my friends and me. I posted the picture to be funny and I didn’t think so many people would see it and believe it.”
It turned out that the man was actually a Spanish musician and Michael Jackson impersonator named Sergio Cortes.
Sergio Cortes travels the world and had been on tour recently in South America for his Tribute show to the late King of Pop.
“It’s really cool that so many people are finding this funny since it was supposed to just be a joke between me and my friends. All of the replies have been so hilarious,” said Lourdes in her tweet.
“Also I kind of feel like a troll since some people actually believed that I was dating the guy, but I’ve just been going with it,” she said concerning her trickery.
“It’s nice to know that so many people still care for and love Michael Jackson,” she added.
