‘World’s Hairiest Girl’ Shaves Her Face After Finding Love For The First Time

Being a girl is never easy. You go through a lot of pressure to look a certain way, act a certain way and be a certain way. It’s especially difficult when you have facial hair. Meet Supatra ‘Natty’ Sasuphan from Bangkok, Thailand.

She suffers from a genetic condition called Ambras Syndrome, also known as ‘Werewolf Syndrome’. Her condition causes Natty to suffer from excessive hair growth across her entire body including her face. She has been crowned the World’s Hairiest Girl by Guinness World Records in 2010.

The day that Natty was born, her parents thought that she was going to go through life constantly being bullied and generally having difficulty to live in society. I mean, it’s hard not to turn your head and stare, even for a few minutes or so. Her condition is fairly rare so doctors haven’t found a cure for it.

Laser hair removal has been tested as a form of treatment but it’s unable to stop the hair from growing and actually causes the hair to grow back way thicker and a lot quicker. But this has not stopped Supatra from living her life.

Rather than shying away from the public eye, she has embraced her condition. Though she has endured serious amounts of bullying from people around the world, she still remains to be a strong, tough girl.

When she was ten-years-old, she won the record and said: “I don’t feel any different to anyone else, and I’ve got lots of friends at school…being hairy makes me special”. She continued, saying “There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don’t do it anymore”.

The young girl’s future was under a great deal of threat. When she was born, she had to go through two operations just so she would be able to breathe. Her father noted that the family was not aware that she was suffering from a condition until she was actually born.

Her father continued, saying “She was not very healthy because her nostrils were only one millimeter wide. For the first three months, she was kept in an incubator to help her breathe. She was in the hospital for a total of 10 months. We were very worried about her.”

He continued describing the situation, saying “When neighbors first saw Nat they asked what kind of sin I had done. I was very worried about what she would be when she grew up because of other children teasing her. She is just the same as any other little girl her age. But her teeth grow slowly and she can’t see very well.”

Just like any parent would, Natty’s father’s only hope is that his daughter will one day be fully cured of her condition. But it has been nearly a decade since the little girl won the award for essentially being the hairiest person, and she’s come a pretty long way.

Natty is now 17-years-old and is your regular teenager. In fact, she has now begun shaving her face and body and has found the love of her life. In fact, she married this person and is sharing photos of her new look on Facebook. She looks happier than ever and is completely glowing. We wish her luck and only happiness!
