Top 5 Character Products That Made Marvel Even Richer
3. Captain America – Civil War – $1 Billion
Now, look. This isn’t the very best Marvel film in terms of the money it brought in, but it can’t be mistaken that Captain America really does make money. Which is crazy considering how much of a supporting character he really is. Iron Man and Thor have enough personality to carry their own films, it’s not easy for good ‘ol Cap.
That being said, it must have helped his sales a whole lot when Captain American was aided by all the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. Basically, this is the third Avengers film (unofficially). In reality though, Captain America is such a supporting character that even this film, with his name in the title, did just about as good as his very first film. I think it’s safe to say that he’s still making money, but he wouldn’t have done this well on Civil War without the Avengers.
4. The Avengers – Age Of Ultron – $459 Million
It’s actually unbelievable just how much money The Avengers: Age of Ultronmade for Marvel. It’s incredible. Though, it must be said it still did poorer than the original Avengers film. So, maybe it’s not all that incredible, but it still pulled in $459 million domestically. Which means that it definitely made well over half a billion dollars worldwide.
I have a prediction though. I am predicting that as well as Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron did at the box office, Avengers: Infinity War is going to do much better than both of them, maybe even better than both of them combined! Why? Just think about the cast of characters they’ve now built into the film thanks to the other pieces of the MCU.
