Angelina Jolie Finally Reveals Why Her Marriage With Brad Pitt Really Ended
From 2005 to 2016, the pair we affectionately dubbed “Brangelina” were the most-talked-about couple in Hollywood. From their flawless looks to their Oscar-winning talent, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were thought to be the epitome of #RelationshipGoals.
But then the utterly unexpected happened just two years after the pair finally got hitched in 2014. Jolie filed for divorce and left us all wondering what it was that destroyed their once solid relationship.
Unfortunately, Jolie tends to keep any discussion about her kids and her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt entirely under wraps. So it is a rare event when she decides to open up about her personal life.
Well, it turns out that she has decided to do just that in a recent podcast interview.
You may know that Jolie has turned her hand to other projects including movie directing. One of the most recent movies that she worked on is First They Killed My Father which was released on Netflix last September.
It turns out that the movie was pretty well received by the critics. So in a recent interview on The Hollywood Reporter‘s podcast Awards Chatter, she discussed the movie and a load of other juicy topics in great detail.
Incredibly, Jolie even opened up about how her relationship with Brad Pitt broke down and contrary to what you may have thought, it had a little something to do with her double mastectomy amongst other things…
Back in 2013, a then 37-year-old Angelina Jolie’s health problems were highly publicised. Her family has a history of breast cancer which really alarmed the mom-of-six, so she decided to get a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of developing the disease.
Her own mother, Marcheline Bertrand, had breast cancer which she managed to fight, but, unfortunately, she later died from ovarian cancer.
Jolie made the incredibly brave decision to undergo a preventive double mastectomy after finding out she had inherited the BRCA gene, a faulty gene which meant that she had an 87% chance of developing cancer.
