3. Jabal Shams
Jabal Shams the highest peak in Oman at over 3000m, literally meaning the mountain of the sun provides welcome relief to the residents of Oman especially during the hot summer months. Aptly named the Mountain of the Sun, Jebal Shas Omans highest point at over 3000 m is a truly amazing sight at all times of the day. And if its adventure you're looking for then you've come to the right place. Jebal Shams Base Camp is set amongst mountains at an altitude of 1,800m. With stone built bungalows or Bddouin style tents (all with modern conveniences) to choose from, it's a great family friendly place to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. There's a viewing point over the Grand Canyon of Arabia and numerous outdoor adventure activities to take part in.
4.Tanuf
Tucked away at the base of the mountains, the extensive ruins of Old Tanuf are hard to miss on the approach to Wadi Tanuf. A scramble through the buildings’ remains is an eerie experience and a great place to play hid-and-seek or practice your photography skills.
